Another year has come and gone, and this year went faster than any other. Between working and traveling for work, raising an infant/toddler and preschooler, trying to update our home, and get this blog going, I have completely burnt myself out. Over the past month, my “migraines with aura” have become more prevalent and complex, which is apparently (and hopefully) just due to stress. My body is literally telling me to slowdown.
Needless to say, 2019 can’t be like 2018, and here are a few changes I need to make to make my life better. Perhaps posting them here will make me more accountable.
Say No More
In my work and personal life, I never say no. And up until recently, this wasn’t a problem for me. I really could do everything, seriously. People would always ask me, “how do you do it?”. I just did. However, this year, it all caught up with me, and I can’t do it anymore.
Be More Strategic with My Time
This one is very similar to the first, but what I really mean is be more mindful with what I am doing every second of the day. Like all busy moms, I am busy every second I am awake, and I still have a long list of things to do. I am really great at multi-tasking, planning out my day, and using every moment wisely, but I, also, do a lot of things that don’t necessarily serve me or my family, and that has to stop.
Create Better Content
Earlier this year, when I got back into blogging, I told myself I was going to put quality over quantity with respect to my posts – that didn’t happen. Again, I got caught up in pumping out a lot of content versus putting out high-quality content. I feel the need to keep up with the full-timers, which is ridiculous. I have a long list of quality post ideas that I haven’t written, because I’ve been so focused on just throwing up new posts, and most of what I write now is fluffy and uninspiring. I have failed you, and I am going to do better in 2019.
Please let me know if you have any ideas for me or my blog below, as I love to hear your feedback!
